Meta Description Checker
Check length, see a live SERP preview, and verify your target keyword is included — before you publish.
Aim for 130–155 characters. Under 70 is too short. Over 160 will be truncated by Google.
Check whether your keyword appears in the description.

Start typing your meta description
The ideal meta description is 130–155 characters: long enough to describe the page clearly and include a keyword, short enough not to be cut off.
What makes a good meta description?
130–155 characters
Long enough to be useful, short enough to show fully. Aim to fill the space without padding.
Include the target keyword
Google bolds keywords from the search query in the snippet. This increases visual prominence and CTR.
Write for the searcher
The meta description is an ad. Tell the searcher what they will get and why your page is the right click.
Unique per page
Duplicate meta descriptions across pages reduce CTR and signal low content differentiation to Google.
Google may rewrite your meta description to better match search intent — especially for queries that don't closely match your description. This is normal and not a technical error.
